Nonprofit Delivering Life-Changing Career Services to Women, Teens, and Young Adults Becomes the Newest Addition to Revitalized Central Phoenix Property
Park Central will soon become home to Dress for Success Phoenix, providing the nonprofit with an expanded and high-profile new location in the heart of Phoenix’s business community.
Taking place on June 1, the move marks a significant milestone in the nonprofit’s mission to empower women, teens, and young adults to achieve economic independence through workforce development and career readiness programs.
The organization’s new 8,050-square-foot facility will be located in the project’s Diamond Building, which also houses a number of restaurants as well as the Industrious coworking space. Just steps from the Valley Metro Light Rail at the Thomas/Central Avenue station, the new campus is easily accessible for the clients Dress for Success Phoenix serves throughout the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dress for Success Phoenix to Park Central,” said Sharon Harper, Chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies. “Their work aligns beautifully with the values we’ve infused into this campus — workforce development, opportunity and innovation. This new location will provide the organization and its clients with increased visibility, accessibility and capacity to grow.”
Bill Cook of Plaza Companies’ Brokerage Services Team represented Dress for Success Phoenix in the transaction.
The new space will feature collaborative meeting areas, upgraded career service facilities, and a welcoming environment designed to foster empowerment, confidence, and connection for the thousands served each year.
“This move is more than just a change of location. It’s a powerful investment in the future of the women, teens, and young adults we serve,” said Tamala McBath, CEO of Dress for Success Phoenix. “Being in the heart of Phoenix’s professional community strengthens our commitment to workforce development, giving those in our programs even greater access to resources, mentorship, and opportunity.”
Park Central, originally opened as Arizona’s first major shopping mall in 1957, has undergone a major transformation to become a modern-day campus for business, healthcare, education, and culture. Today, it is home to institutions like Creighton University’s Health Sciences Campus and Dignity Health as well as an array of innovative tenants and community-focused organizations.
“We are honored to be part of this important expansion,” said Steve Lindley, Chief Operating Officer with Holualoa Companies. “Bringing mission-driven organizations like Dress for Success Phoenix into Park Central enhances the overall impact and community spirit of this historic property. It’s exactly the kind of meaningful use we envisioned when we began this revitalization effort.”
Dress for Success Phoenix will begin operations at the new location on June 9. The organization has requested a temporary hold on clothing donations until June 16 to ensure a smooth transition. Volunteers are encouraged to assist with packing and logistics during the month of May.
A formal grand opening celebration will take place in the fall, with more details to be announced. For more information about Dress for Success Phoenix, visit dfsphoenix.org.
